Lime Water
(i) Lime water (aqueous calcium hydroxide):
It is prepared by stirring calcium hydroxide powder in pure water, and filtering off the excess undissolved Ca(OH)2
(ii) Milk of lime:
A saturated solution of lime-water of pH 12.3. When excess calcium hydroxide is added to lime-water, a suspension of calcium hydroxide particles results in a milky form.
