It is a solid which is formed by adding and/or subtracting two or more solids (such as cuboids, cubes, prisms, pyramids, cones, cylinders and spheres). Three composite solids are shown below:
Fig. (a) is formed by adding a triangular prism to a cuboid. Whereas Fig. (b) is formed by subtracting one fourth part of sphere from a cube. And Fig. (c) is formed by removing the top of the cuboid and then adding a half-cylinder to it.
