Hundredths

and is read as four hundredths.

Four hundredths in the decimal system are written as 0.04 and are read as zero point zero six. Numerals with digits at tenths and hundredths place in a place value chart are shown below.

Numeral 463.78 is read as four hundred sixty–three point seventy–eight.

Thousandths

Fraction is four thousandths.

Four thousandths in the decimal system is written as 0.004.

It is read as zero point zero zero four.

See the place value of numerals after the decimal points. Place value of:

2 is two tenths.

89 is eighty–nine hundredth.

The expanded form of decimal fractions

Example 1:

Place value of digits in the decimal part of the numeral 366.231 is as follows:

Place value of 2 is 2 tenths or

Place value of 3 is 3 hundredths or

Place value of 1 is 1 thousandth or

Numeral 356.231 can be written in expanded form as shown below:

356.231 = 3 hundreds + 5 tens + 6 ones + 2 tenths + 3 hundredths + 1 thousandths

2104.502 = 2 thousand + 1 hundreds + 4 tens + 5 tenth + 2 thousandths
