The central nervous system (CNS) is the processing center for the nervous system, that co joins the information that it
CNS is derived from the dorsal embryonic nerve cord. The two main organs of CNS are the brain and spinal cord. Both the brain and spinal cord are protected by three layered connective tissue called the meninges.
It is the control unit of the body and also the most vital organ. The brain is divided into three main parts: forebrain, the brain stem and the hindbrain.
Thus, The central nervous system is composed of the brain and the spinal cord which function almost like a command center, sending nervous impulses of information down to different levels of the spine. Here the spinal cord branches off into 31 pairs of spinal nerves on each side of the spine. These nerves combine with others and then branch out to the far reaches of the body.
